- The main character is Desmond - a teenager that falls victim to the antagonist who is trying to kill him. Key shots that we have seen used in other films and would like to try and replicate for our own production are highlighted in yellow.
The sequence opens with a close up high angle shot of a puddle with the production company name in the puddle. Then cuts to Desmond walking along a path near to some woods with headphones in as upbeat music plays as diegetic sound as if it was being played through headphones. Meanwhile, various shots of Desmond walking through woods as cutting rate is slow with the same upbeat song to create a false sense of security. Sinister sounding string music cuts in and the upbeat music ends. At the same time there is a crosscut, to the antagonist sharpening a knife shown as he prepares for his victim. Another crosscut back to Desmond for 5 or 6 seconds as the upbeat music cuts back in, and then another sudden cut as the strings music comes back, to the antagonist who stabs a pen down into a peice of paper - this initiates a visual pairing cut to an ultra slow motion shot of Desmond's iPod falling onto the path he is walking on, as if the stabbing of the pen is some kind of voodoo action on Desmond. The strings music continues through the shot of Desmond this time because he has dropped his ipod . There is another shot for about 5-6 seconds of Desmond continuing to walk along the path. Cross cut to the antagonist who draws a curve on a piece of paper as another visual paring cut switches to show a birds eye view of Desmond walking in the same shape of curve off the path into the woods. Various cross cuts switch between Desmond walking towards an abandoned house in the woods and the antagonist with close ups of various weapons and instruments as more credits are shown. During these shots, the cutting rate increases to increase audience suspense, which is helped built up by the strings music growing ever louder. As Desmond gets to the house, there is a side on mid-long shot showing only from his ankles to his shoulders which shows him walking past a wall of the house. When he is past the wall, the camera zooms in to a crack on in the wall with an eye peeking through. The zoom continues until the frame is filled up with black from the pupil of the eye. A shot of Desmond walking around in the house cautiously fades in from black as another cut to the antagonist shows him lurking in a dark room waiting for Desmond to walk in. More shots of Desmond creeping around the house and shallow focus close ups of random bits of the house to help establish the scene and speed up the cutting rate. He turns a corner to see a shadowy figure - then a black title screen pops up showing the title of the film.
